Wilkes University invites applicants for the role of Administrative Assistant to the President and Secretary to the Board of Trustees.

This position reports directly to the President while working closely with members of senior leadership.


Primary responsibilities include:


  • Effectively prioritize and manage multiple administrative projects and assignments
  • Manage the President's calendar and daily events, coordinating with the calendars of senior leadership, including resolving potential conflicts
  • Discretely handle confidential matters as requested, including direct interactions with the President's cabinet, donors, trustees, students, and other key stakeholders
  • Act as primary coordinator for regular Board of Trustees meetings, including coordinating and disseminating meeting information, preparing agendas and meeting materials, and transcription and distribution of minutes.
  • Compose routine correspondence and update documents; prepare mailings; create forms; proofread letters and memos. Disseminate information as requested.
  • Greet and direct building visitors in a warm and inviting manner.
  • Manage student employees effectively to ensure the efficient operation of the administrative office's main unit.
  • Prepare expense reports and assist with the management of the President's Office budget
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for the President
