The Remote WebSphere Middleware Administrator will support our government client in Parkersburg, WV.
The Middleware Administrator will manage a Federal Agency WebSphere Application Server (WAS), IBM HTTP Server (IHS), Message Queuing (MQ), IBI WebFocus, DB2 database, Oracle database, Apache/Tomcat, IBM Spectrum Protect, Veritas NetBackup, Data Transport/Managed File Transfer, and IBM Connect:Direct middleware applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES Deploying and maintaining middleware applications using web technologies including, but not limited to, WebSphere. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to middleware software. Administration and maintenance of web servers and application servers. Working with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift. Managing container networking and storage. Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and PowerShell. Perform infrastructure automation (ideally with tools such as Ansible, Chef, and Puppet) Strong problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skillsREQUIREMENTS 5+ years of experience as an IBI WebSphere Administrator. Strong knowledge of middleware platforms such as WebSphere, JBoss, Apache, etc. Experience in installation, configuration, and maintenance of middleware software. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to middleware software. Knowledge of networking protocols, such as TCP/IP and HTTP. A strong understanding of TLS/SSL certificates and their management. Strong understanding of web servers and application servers. Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift. Knowledge of container orchestration and management tools. Familiarity with container networking and storage. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Strong understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems. Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and PowerShell. Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, and Puppet.
