- Developing standards, plans, and tools for storing, describing, and sharing heterogeneous data (including clinical, genomic, and imaging datasets).
- Working with a team of bioinformaticians, statisticians, and software developers at Sage to coordinate and manage resource and data sharing efforts for multiple research consortia
- Facilitating data sharing across collaborating biomedical research labs by developing tools, writing documentation, curating data, and maintaining project web sites and/or data portals, and responding to requests for data and programmatic support
- Developing use cases and requirements to inform the selection of data models and workflows for a variety of biomedical data types.
- Supporting a community of researchers by onboarding lab members, developing and running data sharing workshops and conducting data management office hours
- Interacting with funders to develop standard operating protocols, identify data management needs and help streamline workflows
- Managing access to sensitive human datasets in collaboration with the Sage ethics and data governance team.
- Enthusiasm for open science and collaboration
- A Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in data science, biomedical/bioengineering, bioinformatics or equivalent
- Experience with biomedical models and data management tools
- Familiarity with R or Python and with collaborative development and version control systems (e.g. git)
- Experience working on multidisciplinary teams
- Project management experience
- Familiarity with at least one of the following: rare disease and/or oncology concepts, aging and Alzheimer's disease, assays, and data types
- Strong familiarity with the FAIR principles )
- Familiarity with Jira, GitHub, Synapse, and other tools for data, code, and project management.
- Extended periods of sitting at a desk and using a computer.
- Repeated wrist, hand, and finger movements.
- Requires clear vision for tasks like data analysis, transcribing, computer use, and reading.

The Biomedical Data Manager will support projects in rare disease, oncology, health of long-lived individuals, and artificial intelligence-assisted data capture and curation. At Sage Bionetworks, we engage equitable workplace strategies to ensure fair compensation. Actual compensation is dependent upon current market data, experience, and pay parity within our organization. This position is a Professional level position, with a compensation range of $72,100 to $103,100.
