Paper packaging manufacturing company located in the Waukegan/North Chicago area is looking for a Production Scheduler/Supervisor to oversee the packer department and schedule production orders.

This is a terrific opportunity for someone who is well versed on the production side of the packaging industry.

First shift hours starting at 6:00 am and overtime as needed. Clean work environment.


Responsibilities

• Scheduling of production orders considering inventory, lead times, and capacity.
• Knowledge of machine capabilities, ink, paper stock, and cartons for effective scheduling.
• Ensure the packaging department is following the company's safety, quality standards, and production goals.
• Identify opportunities for improvement.
• Coach and mentor the packer department to support development.
• Must be able to multitask in a changing environment.
• Ensure new packers are trained effectively and provide additional departmental training as required.

Experience

• Packaging (paper preferred) experience is required
• Must have experience in production scheduling
• Must have experience working in an ERP type system
• Production supervisory experience required of at least 5 years
• Bilingual preferred
• Must be comfortable working about production machinery
• Good listening and people skills
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Good organizational and record keeping skills
