Job Summary:
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.
Across our many agencies, boards, commissions, many State employees participate in the State's Remote Work Program and are able to work remotely in their homes, in offices and in hoteling spaces.
All work, including remote work, should be performed within Arizona, unless an exception is properly authorized in advance.Job Duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage professional employees and or supervises medium to large, complex technical or business support or production operations teams. Provides leadership to supervisors and or professional staff. May provide technical guidance to employees, colleagues, and or customers.
- Work closely with Technical Product Managers and Project Managers and with business teams to architect technology solutions to meet client needs. Suggest alternative technical solutions to meet client requirements and or with greater reusability, and or longer life.
- Make decisions guided by policies, procedures and business plans; receives guidance from senior manager.
- Create and promotes a productive work environment, ensuring that necessary skills and competencies are in place to meet the goal of the team. Adapts departmental plans an priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of:
- Organization's methodologies and tools including waterfall, Agile, and Scrum
- Organization's policies and procedures
- Interrelationships among various internal and external organizational functions
- Advanced software/testing methodologies
- Designing systems to intrinsically support Quality and Performance Testing
- Application architecture, design, coding, automated testing practices and implementation

- Advocating technology changes that provide value and support agency goals

Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the abovementioned process and the agency's ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant computer science major or related field AND/OR 5 or more years of related experience in related discipline (or equivalent experience).
