Job Overview:
Are you looking for an opportunity to join a successful 4th Generation Farming Family with deep roots in the fertile landscapes of the Western USA and Mexico?

We are seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Workers' Compensation ("WC") Claims Coordinator.

In this position, you will be responsible for administering the Company's WC program, which includes gathering, investigating, reporting, and coordinating claims with employees, internal safety and human resource points of contact, medical/health care, and insurance providers, for workers in the Company's farming operations in multiple states and its self-insured program in California.

Reporting to an executive team for an excellent employer recognized as the largest employer of H2A Guest workers in the USA this position requires organizational skill and a team-oriented individual who takes great pride in their work and in the Company's dedication to its workforce, understanding that every team member brings unique perspectives and skills to the Company's collective success.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate contact with employees, gather claims data/status and injury/incident information, and maintain required reporting including CalOSHA required injury and illness records.
  • Collaborate effectively with various internal departments to evaluate, address, and track loss control appeal denials and ensure accountability from insurance payers.
  • Develops and maintains close communication with medical providers providing services for injured employees and serves as the liaison between medical providers, injured employees, department supervisors, and safety coordinators.
  • Navigate, receive, prepare, handle, and store highly confidential information including the ability to access electronic benefits portals and systems and utilize your experience to assess the accuracy of information provided by agents and third parties to challenge inaccuracies when necessary.
  • Reconcile and follow up on WC payments once the claim has been resolved.
  • Conduct thorough followup calls to verify any inconsistencies in the original information.
  • Responsively handle internal company requests for additional information on existing claims or benefits paid.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in WC Claims handling for a minimum of 2 years.
  • A positive, upbeat, and friendly demeanor is crucial for success in this position.
  • Required Bilingual in Spanish with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record.
  • Experience with the State of California Workers' Compensation claims administration and regulations is a plus.
