ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:
A rotating 40-hour work week, holidays included. Operating hours of the Telephone Reporting Unit are from 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m., Monday thru Thursday, 7:00 a.m. thru 12:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Your shift may be scheduled during and portion of these operating hours.

Responsibilities

Interviewing and taking reports from customers via phone and in person. Data entry of offense and other reports into the records management system.

Must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions by:
getting along with co-workers, and peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes. Work with Dispatch to handle call load/volume and clear calls as they are processed. Make occasional court appearances regarding reports taken. Perform research of state law, statue and of other resources to assist in rendering world-class customer service. Review, rejection and approval of police reports for consistency, accuracy and conformity to reporting policies and procedures. May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requires a High School Diploma or GED.

Must pass a typing test with a 75% accuracy or better or a minimum of 30 wpm with 8 errors or less.

Customer service, data entry and research skills are essential. Must be able to obtain TCIC/NCIC certification within six (6) months of employment. Finalists will be required to undergo a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test. A valid driver's license is required at time of application and hire.

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.

This position is classified as "Safety Sensitive".

All employees in safety sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing, pursuant to City policy, HR 15.0 Alcohol and Drug Abuse.
