Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Researches current College and departmental practices, and other best practices for Human Resources recruiting, hiring, and onboarding. Implements recruitment strategies including outreach, training (as needed) and tracking in collaboration with the hiring manager.
  • Supports hiring committee members on development of screening and interview questions and assignments as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local requirements and follows College recruitment guidelines.
  • In collaboration with HR leadership, identify tools to recruit for open positions based on education requirements, job duties, specialized needs, or other hiring preferences.
  • Acts as hiring committee chair or cochair and coordinates interview process from initial screen, to firstround interview, final interview, offer, and onboarding.
  • Coordinates with HR Vice Chancellor, Compensation, Employment, and hiring manager to ensure alignment of talent needs, hiring, and onboarding process.

  • Applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations, codes, and/or statutes.
  • Experience and knowledge of the recruiting issues and trends that affect hiring HR professionals.
  • Training and development principles, practices,methods, and procedures for onboarding plans.
  • Research and analysis.
  • Program/project management principles and techniques.
  • Social media outreach practices on multiple platforms.
  • Automated applicant tracking and human resource information systems. (Knowledge of Workday strongly preferred.)

  • Conducting business and operations needs assessment and developing recommendations to meet those identified needs.

  • Maintaining an established work schedule, not exceeding maximum hours set in partnership with the Vice Chancellor, Human Resources.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of workrelated information and materials.
Skills Technology
- (Workday) HRIS and applicant tracking systems

  • Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.
  • May also use social media (Indeed, LinkedIn, etc)
Required Work Experience

  • Three years related work experience.
Preferred Work Experience

  • Working knowledge of Workday.
