MACHINE OPERATOR - LEVEL 1SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Operate industrial thermoforming machines, producing quality product.
MAJOR DUTIES
:
Be able to turn machines On/Off
Operate thermoforming machine in a safe and efficient manner to produce product, with constant attention to product quality. Troubleshoot production problems, as requiredContinually monitor quality of product produced, making any adjustments required Safely operate hand tools to trim parts or scrap as required
Maintain production levels as required Complete and submit daily production report
Report materials discrepancies, equipment malfunction and unusual conditions to appropriate staff person Perform other duties as required
Perform Lockout/Tagout Procedures Maintain a clean and safe work environment
MINOR DUTIES
:
Safely operate forklift truck Assist in training other staff members on safe and appropriate operation of machine
Program and operate thermwood machine in a safe and efficient manner to ensure product finished with constant attention to quality Provide break relief to staff, operating the machine in a safe and appropriate manner
Perform assembly of products as required Willingness and able to perform other positions or small tasks to help with flow of the plant you are in or possibly other plants within the organization
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
:
Ability to safely operate a forklift Basic math skills
Basic mechanical skills and/or aptitude Ability to utilize a computer
Must be detailed oriented Ability to work safely and adhere to safety rules
MACHINE, TOOLS AND EQUIPTMENT USED
:
Various equipment including: forklift truck, tape measure, calculator, router screw, driver, drill, micrometer, saw, press, rivet gun, nail gun and tooler
PHYSICAL REQUIREMNTS
:
Must be able to: talk, hear, stand, walk, sit lift up to 60 lbs., carry, push, balance, and utilize fingers for picking and pinching Must have good depth perception in order to judge distance and space relationships, clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and at 20 feet or more and an excellent field of vision (can see up, down, left and right)
Pay:
$17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

Education:
- High school or equivalent (required)
Experience:
- Manufacturing: 1 year (preferred)
