Music Therapy is the use of live music to achieve specific goals, such as decreasing anxiety or improving communication.

Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital provides this service as a part of their multidisciplinary team to help support our patients and families.

Current coverage includes all inpatient units on a referral basis.

Music therapy is provided by a board certified music therapist (MT-BC) and can be consulted for families experiencing stress, pain, poor coping, and end of life situations.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy
  • Board Certified
  • 3 years working as a Board-Certified Music Therapist in a healthcare setting
  • 1year experience working as a Board-Certified Music Therapist in a pediatric healthcare setting.
  • Meets all educational, musical, clinical, and ethical competencies outlined by the American Music Therapy Association
  • Thorough knowledge of Child Development and the ability to assess with visual and auditory acuity and respond effectively to the individual, age specific needs with high quality music therapy intervention
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Current infant, child, and adult CPR and AED training, AHA
