For 25 years, Color-X has produced innovative print, design and fabrication solutions for many of the nation's most prestigious retailers, corporations, designers, museums, and more We specialize in large format printing, custom wood, metal and other substrate fabrication, and nationwide installation and fulfillment services.

We are seeking an experienced Producer w/ designing, print + 3D engineering knowledge. Both 2D and 3D design and/ or rendering skills needed to join our NYC headquarters. Applicants must possess a keen eye for detail along with a healthy mix of creative and technical know-how.

Strong design and layout skills, strict attention to detail, and outstanding organizational, project management, file-organization and archiving skills are a must.

Key Responsibilities:

• Concept, design, sketch, and render using a combination of 3D modeling software and 2D design software.
• Interpret site surveys, hand sketches, client decks, etc. and translate them into accurate 3D models and 2D architectural layouts.
• Produce shop drawings for fabrication.
• Build printready files based on concept art.
• Manage artwork, die lines and workflows across multiple brands while adhering to differing style guides and brand requirements.
• Generate 3D and 2D production files for prototyping/samples while minimizing the need for revisions and resampling.
• Design production ready files for rapid prototyping / 3D printing.
• Provide technical artwork support to creative, project management, and production teams.
• Provide image retouching and additional image manipulation as needed.
• Produce detailed design decks for client presentations.
• Advise and implement solutions for production challenges.
• Review architectural drawings and RFQ's to understand scope of work for sales and project management teams.
• Project management for multiple projects

Additional Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other team members to define design goals.
• Create PDFs for print and client review.
• Work closely with production teams to ensure quality throughout production process including file set up, prototyping, and final production.
• Providing support to the Creative Director with additional duties as necessary.
• Create production files for CNC milling, laser cutting, CAD cutting, etc
• Work directly with internal and external stakeholders in researching new materials, production methodologies, and capabilities for new product development.
• Attend installations as needed, especially for technical buildouts.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking
• Eye for great design and balanced layouts

Qualifications

• Proficient in the Adobe Suite specifically Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Proficient in SketchUp, Blender, Rhino, or SolidWorks with an interest/willingness to learn and share new software or digital techniques.
• Concept and technical drawing/drafting ability experience demonstrated in an online portfolio.
• Knowledge of essential architecture, engineering, and construction protocols as well as fabrication techniques as diverse as carpentry to TIG welding, computerdriven cutting, and 3D printing.
• Degree in graphic design, industrial design, or preferably: 12 years working in a sign shop, construction, or architectural fields with a design/build focus.
• Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas in a cohesive, openended manner.
• Strong organizational skills capable of prioritizing multiple tasks across multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Passion for creativity, problemsolving, and an intuitive atmosphere built around set, yet evolving goals.
• Critical thinker capable of working autonomously and as part of a team.

$72, $89,000.00 per year

• High school or equivalent (required)

Experience:

• Rhinoceros 3D: 2 years (preferred)
