    Job Description

    Primary Purpose:

    Provides complete design and engineering for assigned signal projects, automatic signals, interlockings, grade crossing warning systems, defect detectors, classification yards, and any other needed items.

    Principal Duties:

    • Designs circuit and integrated systems for signal projects assigned to provide the basic ingredient required to accomplish the signal engineering function.
    • Prepares accurate cost and time estimates for various proposed projects to provide management with information needed to help determine the viability of the projects under consideration.
    • Prepares detailed material lists, specifications, ordering references, and requisitions for procurement of material and equipment.
    • Provides engineering support to field forces as needed to troubleshoot difficult trouble and to restore facilities damaged by derailments, the elements, outsiders, and any other causes.
    Job Related Experience:

    Minimum Level: 1-2 years Preferred Level: 3-5 years

    Education:

    Preferred Level: Associate's Degree (AS)
