    Description

    The ideal candidate for this position will be a seasoned researcher who is eager to spearhead innovative integrated signal processing algorithms, applying expertise in engineering, physics, and mathematics to address communications and spectrum sensing challenges relevant to the DoD.

    Job Overview

    - Develops or leverages mathematical, statistical, computational, and modeling techniques to create algorithms for processing analog or digital signals in hardware, firmware, or software systems.

    - Implements time and frequency signal algorithms, communication and spectrum sensing algorithms, image processing algorithms, and applies sensing and perception algorithms in various sensor processing modalities.

    - Utilizes advanced engineering and mathematical concepts to design algorithmic solutions, involving filtering and data fusion methods, and codes in assembly language or higher-level software for application-specific hardware integration.

    Primary Responsibilities

    - Develop methods and tools to achieve project goals through research tasks.

    - Test algorithm implementations on different platforms.

    - Lead or contribute to the creation of whitepapers and proposals supporting research areas.

    - Engage with current and potential sponsors.

    - Produce technical reports, journal articles, and presentations related to projects.

    Additional Duties

    - Develop and apply mathematical, statistical, computational, and modeling techniques for signal processing, including digital and analog signals.

    - Support adaptive algorithm research and engage in project execution, technical meetings, and collaboration with colleagues.

    - Use physics-based modeling and advanced mathematical techniques for data processing, signal analysis, communication and spectrum system modeling.

    - Foster relationships with customers, contribute to whitepapers and proposals, and offer technical guidance.

    Minimum Qualifications

    - At least 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related field.

    - Proficiency in communications, spectrum sensing, signal processing, machine learning, or applied mathematics.

    - Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research setting.

    - Capability to navigate uncertainties and explore new paths.

    Preferred Qualifications

    - Active U.S. security clearance.

    - Ph.D. in relevant field.

    - Background in communications, spectrum applications, and related algorithms.

    - Familiarity with MATLAB programming.

    - Experience in FPGA algorithms implementation using HDL.

    - Expertise in signal processing, electromagnetics, modeling & simulation, machine learning, image, or control theory.
