Description

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Specimen Collector to join our team. As a Specimen Collector, you will be responsible for collecting, witnessing, and processing specimens in a medical setting. This is a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely testing for patients.


Duties:


  • Perform specimen collection procedures, including venipuncture, capillary puncture, and urine collection
  • Follow established protocols and guidelines for specimen collection and handling
  • Prepare specimens for transport to the laboratory
  • Maintain accurate documentation of specimen collection and processing
  • Adhere to infection control and safety protocols
  • Assist with inventory management of collection supplies
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients during the collection process

Requirements:


  • Previous experience in specimen collection preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
  • Familiarity with laboratory processes and specimen handling
  • Ability to perform cardiac catheterization, spinal taps, and other specialized procedures as needed
  • Basic life support certification is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends if required

Note:
All positions must be paid, including internship positions.


Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time


Pay:
$ $17.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Shift availability:

  • Day Shift (preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Baltimore, MD: Relocate before starting work (required)
