Responsibilities:


What you'll be challenged to do:
Planner 2 position in the area of transportation grant oversight and writing, and associated specialties.

Position will work on different types of grant implementation projects for various clients and will join a group of transportation planners in our downtown Chicago location and in our other offices who perform a variety of projects and studies for public and agency clients.


Primary Responsibilities (others may be included):

  • Independently performs assignments
  • Is communicative and responsive to clients
  • Conducts research and documentation
  • Works well as part of the team to visualize solution concepts and assist in preparing recommendations and alternatives.
  • Compiles and analyzes data on compliance reviews and facilitation and implementation of programs and services required by federal, state, and local legislation.
  • Participates in onsite inspections, inventorying, and documentation of existing site conditions as applicable.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Attends and participates in internal team meetings and applies manager's feedback when making project revisions.

Qualifications:

What you bring to our firm:

  • Bachelor's degree in urban planning or related field required
  • 510 years of experience
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint required

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet, however, when traveling to the client site, noise level can be loud.

Position may require some travel to offices within their respective area using various modes of transportation including automobile and airline. For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Colorado, or NY City, TranSystems is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.

This compensation range is specific to the State of California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; internal peer equity; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

At TranSystems, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80,000 - $110,000 annually.
