The successful candidate will be responsible to coach, support, train, and motivate team members to ensure a high level of performance. This position will be responsible for personnel management of a software team to include performance assessment, career development guidance, program assignments, merit and salary actions, training plans, staffing and recruiting.
As the Software Manager you will be responsible for:

Qualifications and Education Requirements
+ Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other technical field or equivalent education and work experience
+ Minimum of 10 years software development experience
+ Demonstrated success in prior leadership roles, with 3-5 years leadership experience
+ Experience supporting military or defense programs
+ Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
+ Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues and predict potential programmatic and technical risks
+ Strong follow-up skills with attention to detail
+ Clear and concise communication in both written and verbal form
+ Assertive problem-solving, negotiations, and conflict-resolution skills
+ Ability to be diplomatic or firm, when necessary, to move business forward or obtain results
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines with confidence and ease
+ Ability to prioritize and organize workload across multiple groups
+ Must have proven ability to build trust and inspire others
+ Proven experience with the software development lifecycle
+ Proven track record of building relationships, fostering collaboration and working cross-functionally with multidisciplinary teams
+ Experience using earned value management systems to manage a team's cost and schedule performance
+ Active DoD Secret Clearance within a five-year investigation period
+ Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Security Responsibilities

+ Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Physical Demands

Salary Range: $140,000 - $154,800 Please note: The actual compensation rate is subject to the evaluation of the following factors (but not limited to): the candidate's work experience, qualifications, skills, internal equity, and market.
