Primary Duties
Establish clear project scope (the work we have agreed to do) and project specifications (any specific requirements established by the owner or contract), so that the field crews can efficiently execute the project.
Establish and manage a budget for each project to be equal or better than bid margin. This includes Labor, Material, Subcontracting, Equipment, and Other jobs costs.
Provide regular and formal updates to the General Contractor and/or Project Owner regarding the project. There should be no surprises.
Establish clear and formal subcontracts for any areas of the project that are subbed out.
Build material lists, order and keep track of project Materials using to ensure that the project schedule is not delayed due to missing material.
The Project Health is the tool that should drive the actions to "manage" the project and is owned by the Project Manager.
Collaborate with the Operations Supervisor and Superintendents so that the manpower schedule, equipment schedule, and project schedule are in always in sync and are optimized.
Budget/Profit – jobs getting done under budget.
Quality – meets or exceeds owners' expectations.
Scope & Spec – clearly defied and executed.
Schedule – jobs get done on time.
Project Resources – resource needs clearly/regularly communicated to Operations Supervisor
Project Risks – risks are identified and mitigated to minimize impact on all project stakeholders.
Project Billing / Invoicing – projects cash flow.
Measurables (Project Health Report)
Safety:
Zero Injuries.
Quality:
Rework/Warranty Dollars.
Delivery:
Project milestones met or exceeded.
Cost:
Profit meets or exceeds budget.
Moral:
Everyone wants to be on this team.
Requirements:
Must be adept at performing a wide variety of skills, including:
Electrical experience preferred
Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
Problem Solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Communication- Keeps others well-informed. Strong Written and verbal communication. Excellent follow up.
Flexible – Ability to keep up with and adjust to changing priorities and deadlines
