- Responsible for layout, reading blueprints, assigning duties, planning the next tasks, inspections, keeping time, and ensuring materials and tools are available for the crews as directed by the superintendent.
- Executes tasks and activities as directed and in accordance with plans and specifications provided by the superintendent.
- May be responsible for reporting the crew's daily production and assisting the superintendent with production goals, solving problems, and task planning.
- Provides on-the-job training for company apprentices.
- Typically provides carpenter duties.
- Ensures compliance with quality and production standards established by the superintendent's task plans.
- Coordinates with other trades on jobsite to ensure job schedules are met.
- Fosters a positive attitude within the crew.
- Watch for compliance with safety policies.
- Keeps jobsite clean and free of debris as needed for a safe environment.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as directed by the superintendent.
- Consistently show up on time and ready to work productively each day.
- Good work ethic.
- Proficiency with using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.)
- Ability to listen to, understand, and follow directions.
- Ability to remain flexible as specific assignments change.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Willingness to follow and require others to always adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a safe work environment.
- Promote teamwork and a positive attitude.
- Represent KBS in a professional manner.
- At least 5 years of experience in commercial construction is required.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must pass background and drug screening.
