- Provide training, leadership and direction to the field employees under their supervision.
- Train employees on safety procedures and safety equipment.
- Maximize productivity while maintaining job costs, installation quality and employee safety.
- Ensure the proper utilization of materials and equipment.
- Recruit, mentor and retain a dependable and knowledgeable architectural sheet metal workforce.
- Ensure quality practices for the department on all projects.
- Educate employees on architectural sheet metal best practices, terminology, materials and equipment.
- Plan, administrate, and participate as an instructor in Company sponsored education programs for the workforce.
- Promote proper work ethic and enforce the Company's policies, procedures and practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient knowledge of PC software applications including Word and Excel.
- Possesses a working knowledge in blueprint reading and specifications.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record is preferred.
- Occasional travel and out of town work is required.
- Available to work for extended hours when necessary.
- Must not be afraid of heights.
- Extensive knowledge with multiple types of roofing products and systems.
- Advanced planning skills for establishing maximum productivity of workforce, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to represent the Company in a professional manner, promoting the organization in a positive and productive discipline which will serve as an example to others.
- Other critical skills include problem identification/resolution, multi-tasking, follow-through skills to bring tasks to closure, priority setting, and having a sense of urgency in accomplishing tasks in a timely manner.
