California Post Acute is looking for a dynamic Activity Assistantto join our team and provide our residents with an exceptional care experience. As an Activities Assistant you will lead group and independent activities for the resident population. You will assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of recreational social, intellectual emotional and spiritual programs in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan and as directed by the Activity Director.
Responsibilities:
- Duties include charting, initial assessment, documentation, activity planning, implementation of scheduled activities, and supervision of activity staff members.
- Performs patient activities (therapeutic and diversional) for all residents in accordance with Federal, State and Company requirements.
- Carries out support tasks relating to patient activities correctly and on schedule.
- Tracking weekly participation in group activities while encouraging participation
- Ensures resident activity calendars and communications are updated and posted in a timely manner
- Provide necessary adaptations (creative or supplies) to meet individual resident needs.
- Participate in special events.
- Ensuring all charted activity progress notes are descriptive and detailed
- Coordinating activities with other departments and working collaboratively with all staff
- Following Infection and Control policies and Safety and Sanitation procedures
- Preparing background materials and conducting relevant research for activities within the provided curriculum
- Facilitate resident outings into the community as determined by their interests and abilities.
Experience:
- Experience with dementia care
- Activities experience in longterm care highly desired but not required.
- Activities Certification highly desired but not required.
- Must have leadership skills, be extremely attentive to details, and be an effective communicator.

Pay:
$ $19.00 per hour
