Job Summary:


We are seeking an experienced, self-sufficient, manager with a solid understanding of how a ski shop operates and a plus if you have a background in outdoor patio furniture.

The person filling this position will need to work with hourly employees and assistant managers to provide an exceptional experience for our customers while reinforcing procedures to maintain consistency amongst our three locations.

They will be responsible for overlooking the daily operations and scheduling for each department in the store, along with overseeing and assisting in training all new hires.

The shop runs at an extremely high pace from September through January and will require hands on leadership to keep things running smoothly and to keep moral up.

Requirements:


  • Minimum five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional supervisory and management skills.
  • Strong work ethic and enthusiastic about new challenges.
  • Ability to selfmotivate and selfmanage.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a high energy, fast paced retail setting.
  • Ability to handle complaints with poise while remaining polite and professional.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Ability to be flexible with their schedule through the winter months.
  • Must work a full schedule for at least 5 days a week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities:


  • Ensure every customer receives the best experience.
  • Lead by example to effectively drive the performance of team members.
  • Effectively coach on store policies, protocols, and expectations.
  • Overlook the daily operations and schedules for all departments.
  • Responsible for ensuring 2530 people are hired, trained and scheduled during the busy season (September-March), and 1015 during the summer months.
  • Direct Reports include 3 assistant managers to help in each department (Ski, Clothing, and Snowboard).
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and assist in training all new employees.
  • Sell and service both ski and snowboard equipment when necessary.
  • Sell and service outdoor patio furniture when necessary.
  • Schedule and coordinate the facility's maintenance and security.
  • Able to stand 8 hours.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
This is a physical position that includes lifting, standing for extended periods of time, and bending over.
