In alignment with this bold corporate goal, the Amazon Devices & Services organization is hiring a Sustainability Scientist to join our growing Devices Sustainability team.

Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will be part of the central Amazon Devices & Services Sustainability team


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with business teams to build carbon measurement and reduction plans
  • Expanding existing assessment models to serve new use cases
  • Working closely with research scientists and SDEs on building scalable assessment models
  • Communicating professionally to senior business leaders

  • PhD in engineering discipline or other sustainabilityrelated fields
  • 5+ years conducting sustainability research and/or driving sustainability improvements
  • 2+ years of experience with highvolume consumer electronics products or other electronic products.
  • Experience with commercial LCA software and data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with AWS services (S3, Redshift) is a plus
  • Experience working with messy datasets and deriving inferences from them
  • Strong drive to learn new topics and skills, to develop innovative insights
  • Published a peerreviewed LCA, Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), product carbon footprint (PCF), or similar.
