Every year, we are looking for over 5,000 apprentices in 50 different professions who want to grow and improve with us.

We are currently seeking candidates for a 3-year apprenticeship as a train traffic controller (m/f/d) at our DB Training location in Hannover.

The vocational school is located in Burgdorf.

After that, there will be a 6-month practical assignment at DB InfraGO AG, followed by a 2-year further qualification as a specialist for railway operations at DB Training.

During the apprenticeship, you will be working in one of the many control centers of the railway (called "signal box") and learn the following tasks: monitoring and controlling train traffic with technical support, such as screens or display boards, ensuring that trains take the correct route, deciding when trains should stop, go or overtake, operating and setting switches and signals, and communicating with train drivers via radio to inform them of any changes.

Your goal is to ensure safe and smooth train traffic.

During your apprenticeship, you will become familiar with working in a signal box and gain an overview of train operations.

You will also learn about different signal box technologies and the rules and regulations for daily train operations. Additionally, you will acquire the necessary knowledge to ensure safe and smooth train traffic in your area.
