Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • This position involves the implementation of positive behavior strategies. This person will implement schoolwide incentives for positive behavior, deal with some student misbehavior, and call/meet with parents as a way to prevent/decrease student inappropriate behavior. This person will be responsible for dress down days, quarterly reward assemblies, and weekly and monthly student incentives. This person will track discipline data, prepare reports, and report to the school and district about the overall effectiveness of PBI. This person will be a member of the district PBI committee and the school PBI committee and will call/meet with parents regularly.

  • Ability to perform duties with an awareness of Illinois State Board of Education mandates, Board of Education policies, and district requirements
  • Ability to foster and maintain positive and effective working relationships with teachers, administrators, support staff, district staff, students, parents and the community
  • Ability to meet deadlines with time constraints
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Ability to prepare reports in various styles and formats
  • Ability to operate office machines and personal computers and other technology related devices and their related software
  • Ability to work within a team environment

Experience:


  • Minimum of three (3) years successful experience as a classroom teacher

  • Comply with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
  • Other duties as assigned
