Overview:
Under direct supervision of the Director, the School Social Worker will:
Support and provide services and programs for 6th-8th grade students.
The School Social Worker is expected to collaborate with all staff in building a coherent system of coordinated support within an Multi Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework that ensures access to:

  • High expectations for learning and achievement
  • Emotionally and physically safe and healthy learning environments;
  • Caring and connected relationships with peers and adults; and
  • Meaningful participation that enhances academic, socialemotional, civic, and moral development and elevates student voice.

Major Duties:

  • Assess home, school, personal, and community factors that may affect students' learning.
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, and other staff regarding the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students to evaluate and make recommendations in developing and implementing an appropriate plan for students.
  • Develop and maintain necessary tracking mechanisms and records to manage casework.
  • Work collaboratively with staff and partners to advance student success and close equity gaps by reducing chronic absenteeism.
  • Collaborate with staff and parents/guardians to support distance/blended learning curriculum and activities
  • Conduct classroom observations, assess program implementation, and provide programs and services within a Multi-Tiered System of Support to foster a positive climate and culture.
  • Collaborates with administration, staff, teachers, families and community to address needs of identified students.
  • Works with the department to analyze policies, programs, regulations, socialemotional, legal and ethical concerns in order to provide comprehensive professional development and support services.
  • Provide home visitation services, provide crisis intervention, conduct ongoing psychosocial evaluations
Requirements / Qualifications

Valid California PPS Credential in School Social Work;
Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW);
Two years or more of post MSW social work field instruction experience recommended.
Bilingual Recommended

  • Spanish Preferred as you will be working with many Spanish speaking families.

Pay:
$50, $99,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed
