Dominican Village is a not-for-profit, senior living community and assisted living residence founded in 1992 by the sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville, New York.


Our mission is to provide a supportive environment in which the sacredness of life and the dignity of each person are held in the highest regard and to offer its residents a choice of programs and services which foster independence, promote physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health, and maximize opportunities for socialization.

We are currently looking for a professional individual to lead our Maintenance team as Director of Maintenance.

The Director of Maintenance is a senior member of Dominican Village Management team, responsible for directing and maintaining the Company's facilities to meet the highest industry standards.

This includes but is not limited to HVAC and mechanicals, power generation, AC and DC Power Supplies, Security systems, and facility environmental monitoring.

The Director will source and manage contractors to perform maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to facilities., while meeting and exceeding Dominican Village standards.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Leads and manage a group of maintenance employees.
  • Conducts internal maintenance audits and inspections to ensure quality and adherence to Dominican Village standards, and compliance with legal and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Provides oversight of maintenance/repairs & ensure contracted services are completed in a timely manner.
  • Makes recommendations regarding improvement for quality, increased efficiency, productivity, and cost reductions.
  • Follows established safety precautions when performing tasks and in the use of equipment and supplies.
  • Reports and records all hazardous conditions to the CEO.
  • Conducts ongoing review of maintenance programs and oversight.
  • Consistently reinforces Dominican Village Culture by practicing, promoting, and modeling its Mission, Vision, and Values.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:


Must have thorough understanding of a variety of concepts, practices, procedures, and theory with detailed knowledge of facility management, and maintenance.

Ability to communicate professionally through all types of media with employees, management, and contractors. Must have strong work ethic, be well organized, and reliable.

Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering plus a minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in HVAC, plumbing, electric, carpentry & general maintenance.
  • Valid NY State Driver's License.
  • Assisted Living or skilled nursing facilities experience preferred.
  • Supervisory experience in maintenance is a plus.

Salary Range:
$75,000 - $85,000
