Job Description:
To take charge of specific technical aspects of patient care as instructed by the RN/LPN at the hospital. Tasks include obtaining and recording vitals, weight, inputs and outputs, and completing an on-site PCT training program successfully. Candidates must show attentiveness to patient and personal safety.
1. Perform designated technical patient care duties in the hospital under the guidance of the nursing staff, such as oral suctioning, oxygen setup, trach care, Foley catheter care, venipuncture, pulse oximetry setup, ostomy care, specimen collection, and EKGs.
2. Collect and document vitals, weight, inputs, and outputs.
3. Familiarize patients with their surroundings upon admission.
4. Assist patients with daily activities.
5. Demonstrate awareness of patient and personal safety.
6. Carry out other assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
