As part of TCEQ's Office of Waste, you would contribute to agency efforts to regulate the generation, treatment, storage, and disposal of various wastes and the cleanup of contaminated sites.

This position is a member of our Remediation Division.


KEY QUALIFICATIONS

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Oversee Petroleum Storage Tank/Dry Cleaner Remediation Program (PST/DCRP) Section sites for all phases of geoscience highly advanced work including site investigations, monitoring, and remediation for the TCEQ.
  • Plan and coordinate all phases of project management of remediation projects, involving highly advanced geoscience work; evaluate technical submittals for adherence to regulations and specified contract requirements, draft documents to address technical reviews and queries, and develop scopes of work for site investigations and corrective actions.
  • Oversee contracts/work orders to achieve corrective action at PST/DCRP Section sites.
  • Review invoices under prevailing agency guidelines and required time frames.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE


Licensed as a Geoscientist by the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists (TBPG) plus five years of full-time geological experience beyond licensure.


OR


Ten years of full-time geoscientist experience and must obtain Geoscientist licensure within twelve (12) months of hire date by the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists (TBPG).


  • A graduate degree in a geoscience discipline may substitute for one year of the required experience, with a maximum of two years substitution allowed.
