Production Assistants are responsible for assisting the production supervisors/plant manager and monitoring production/router schedules. They are also required to load and unload material from hoppers, V blenders, Shears, Furnaces, and machines and perform simple sizing tasks. These workers help in the quality control process and solve technical problems related to all activities on the production floor. In cases of breakdown, they need to report the issue to the supervisor in charge, such as production managers or plant manager.

Production Assistants usually perform many of the following tasks:

Examining products. Observing the operation of machines.

Maintaining cleanliness.

Monitoring measurement feed rates, sizing specifications.

Unloading/Loading materials from hoppers, Bins processing equipment.

Production Assistants must be able to lift min 50 lbs. Must be able to pass a PFT and possible RFT. (Respirator fit test) Computer skills and Use electric and hand jacks as needed and Fork Truck certification a plus.
