Position Description


The role of the Production Processor is to create jobs in the ERP system that meet customer demands and ensure efficient routing through the production process.

The position is also responsible for ensuring traveler packages are correct according to requirements and part revisions.


Competencies

  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods.
  • Understanding of the workflow and how each part of the production line contributes to the end product.
  • Familiarity with the properties of various materials used in the manufacturing process, understanding how these materials behave under different conditions, and how to handle them properly.
  • Effective communication skills for working in teams and coordinating with other staff, including verbal and written communication.

Essential Functions

  • Create shop travelers for new and existing products.
  • Interface with Programming to create manufacturing methods and shop drawings for the traveler package in accordance with the customer?s purchase order.
  • Ensure all the latest applicable product drawings and specifications are contained in the shop traveler.
  • Check available inventory for stocked parts (spares) prior to determining the build quantity.
  • Compile all associated drawings and relevant technical data to include in the traveler package.
  • Ensure all documentation is current.
  • Collaborate with other team members to improve processes and overall efficiency.
  • When notified, adjust the flow sequence for efficiency in the travelers and release the revised traveler to Document Control, Programming, and Production.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of employees.
  • Follow established department/company policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Participate in training sessions to stay updated with the latest production techniques and equipment.
  • Problemsolving skills to troubleshoot issues during production.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proven experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong understanding of production procedures and machine operation.
  • Familiar with quality standards (ISO9001/AS9100).
  • Basic math and reading skills for following production instructions and maintaining production logs.
  • Good problemsolving skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Able to work in a typical manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to leave workstation multiple times throughout the day to participate in activities on the production floor.

Other Physical Requirements

  • This is a designated safetysensitive position.
