- Community management
- Create a friendly environment to facilitate high member satisfaction
- Plan and launch community initiatives to create connections between members of different organizations. This might include targeted member introductions, recommending possible mentor matches, running networking events, and managing communications within the space and through digital vehicles.
- Seek out information about the business and personal objectives of tenant organizations and their individual members
- Resolve issues between members quickly and in a manner that diffuses tension
- Foster a sense of inclusivity where fresh ideas are welcome
- Be knowledgeable about membership contracts and guidelines, and local laws that manage the work environment. Explain these policies to members, as necessary.
- Help Manage policies for the Co-working space
- Oversee new member onboarding and member moves out of the space
- Events planning and execution
- Build a quarterly calendar of co-working events that engages all stakeholders:
- Current members: Educational (e.g., lunch and learns) and appreciation events (e.g., happy hours and themed parties)
- Future members: Lead generation and sales-related events
- University Community: Engaging with University staff and students in an effort to support our entrepreneurs.
- Local community: Identify outside organizers and encourage them to use our event space. Depending on the exact nature, these events should also be used to build CRM and a digital community.
- Manage the allotted budget
- With your team, oversee the event itself, from catering to a smooth event check-in process to cleaning up
- Build a quarterly calendar of co-working events that engages all stakeholders:
- Business development
- In partnership with Northwestern and the city, be responsible for setting and achieving objectives
- Conduct tours for prospective members
- Communication the local press and community leaders to generate interest Engage with the local community by attending relevant events they are hosting
- Ensure that new members will fit with cultural dynamics and mission
- Maintain a positive relationship with key vendors and our facility staff
- Facilities and space management
- Manage all building operations to the satisfaction of members
- Maximize uptime and availability of key facilities assets like the Wi-fi network, printers/copiers
- Keep members aware of facilities issues that may impact them
- Utilize a variety of coworking software applications to manage the space and membership
- Make recommendations to the owners about new features or perks that will entice members
- Submit maintenance tickets for repairs to the facility and key equipment
- Ensure cleaning is conducted to spec
- Be aware of local laws and regulations as they pertain to member safety and emergency preparedness
- Personnel management
- Manage a team to achieve the community, sales, and facilities goals stated above
- Be responsible for the professional development of each team member
- Conduct regular meetings with the entire team to ensure members are aligned on key initiatives and performance goals
- Hold weekly one-on-one meetings with each team member to review the status of individual tasks and goals
- Lead regular performance reviews of team members
- Share perspectives on the team with ownership
- Operations
- Communicate/Reporting out to senior stakeholders
- Collaborate with other departments with Sunshine Enterprises
- 2-4 years experience with increasing responsibility in either a customer service role
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Highly technically capable. Able to understand and work with the variety of hardware and software applications that our space depends on like scheduling systems and security systems.
- Experience managing corporate social media campaigns
- Experience with written content generation in a business environment and basic graphic design skills are a plus
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- People skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Computer skills (typing, emailing, word docs and google sheets).
- Interest in making a lasting impact on the lives of entrepreneurs
- Familiar with Evanston and surrounding business support communities
- Familiar with Chicago's south side and surrounding business support communities
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
- Ability to work on-site (Multiple locations)

- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must maintain the following attendance:
- Report to the office for Monday staff and one on one meetings.
- Must be available for a 40-hour week.

Sunshine Enterprises is a 501 3 nonprofit based in Chicago, IL. Sunshine Enterprises fosters economically viable communities through training, coaching, and connecting high-potential entrepreneurs. Sunshine Enterprises' mission is to empower high-potential entrepreneurs living in under-resourced neighborhoods to grow their businesses and transform their communities. Sunshine Enterprises' vision is to establish 5 neighborhood-based business hubs catalyzing free enterprise in Chicago's under-resourced neighborhoods. Currently, we serve hundreds of unique entrepreneurs throughout the Chicago area in three main business hubs servicing neighborhoods such as Woodlawn, Englewood, West Evanston, Rogers Park, and North Lawndale. Each of these hubs has been strategically placed in areas suffering from a lack of jobs, marketplace resources, and growth opportunities. These hubs provide an economic stimulus to the communities by supporting local entrepreneurs. SE also has developed specialty hubs focused on the property management, construction trades, arts, and tech industries.
