- Working with engineers to identify critical source data and bring it into the GIS with an emphasis on high accuracy and precision
- Consult with GIS, IT Department colleagues, and engineers to customize Esri's Foundational Utility Network model
- Review submitted survey or design drawings for completeness
- Edit existing GIS data while maintaining geometric network and topology rules
- Work with engineers to identify opportunities to enhance existing GIS data models in support of current and future project needs
- Will be responsible for submitting weekly work summaries and daily timesheets
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Planning, Architecture, Engineering, or Computer Science or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional setting in the field(s) of GIS, Engineering, Architecture, and/or Project Management.
- Proficiency in ESRI's Desktop & Enterprise software (ArcPro expert preferred)
- Proficiency using Esri's Data Reviewer extension
- Experience with Esri's Utility Network
- Experience with AutoCAD preferred
- Experience with Python preferred
- Ability to interpret engineering design plans and ability to use an engineering scale
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Fundamental understanding of GNSS, coordinate systems, datums, projections, etc. (experience using mapping or survey-grade GNSS receivers preferred)
- Familiarity with asset management and work order management systems preferred
- Strong customer service focus, a positive attitude, possess strong influencing and communication skills, as well as possess a sense of urgency and resolve technical issues
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team to resolve issues
- Work experience in a public service environment (Engineering or Utilities experience preferred)
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as the employee works in an office setting, at an individual work station, using telephone and computer
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for most of the day
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a printer/copy machine
- This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office
- The person in this position frequently communicates via telephone
