    BASIC FUNCTION :

    This role involves conducting MRI procedures according to established protocols, policies, and procedures ordered by healthcare providers. As a member of a multidisciplinary team including radiologists, radiology residents, technologists, and nurses, this position also entails patient care and work responsibilities.

    NATURE AND SCOPE :

    Delivers MRI imaging services to patients across all age groups, from newborns to the elderly. Interaction occurs with patients, their families, physicians, hospital personnel, and various departments.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Verify patient identity and review information for exam consistency, clinical diagnosis, and preparation.
    • Evaluate factors that may affect the exam, such as medications or inadequate preparation.
    • Screen patients for potential contraindications before entering the MRI magnetic field.
    • Ensure patient and technologist safety through the use of safety devices on equipment.
    • Select optimal imaging parameters for each exam based on patient charts and physician requests.
    • Administer contrast agents as needed, monitoring patients for reactions and notifying the necessary medical personnel.
    • Provide clear instructions to patients, families, and healthcare providers, addressing their concerns and questions.
    • Assess and monitor patients' conditions before, during, and after procedures, providing necessary support or first aid in emergencies.
    • Reformat images and perform specialized 3D imaging as required.
    • Report findings requiring immediate clinical response and notify relevant healthcare providers.
    • Conduct daily equipment quality checks and maintain controlled access to the MRI area.
    • Participate in educational programs to enhance knowledge and skills in MRI procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain patient confidentiality.
    • Perform other duties as needed to support customer service and departmental requirements.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

    Must hold certification as an MRI Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

    Requires a minimum of 2 years' experience in MRI technology.

    Must be certified as an MRI Technologist.

    MRI Technologist: 2 years

    Required license or certification:

    • Certified MRI Technologist and Registered Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

    Must be able to stand, walk, sit, lift (supplies), stoop, bend, pull, push, reach, write, type (finger dexterity), file, speak, hear, see, interpret, and organize for extended periods of time.
