    Description
    NEW Micro Supervisor Opening - Northern Ohio

    Position Summary:

    The Microbiology Department Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the technical operations of the Microbiology Department while also performing essential duties as a Medical Laboratory Scientist specializing in Microbiology.

    Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Supervise and ensure the training and competency of Microbiology staff.
    • Establish, maintain, and update microbiology policies and procedures in compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards, under the direction of the Director of Technical Operations.
    • Ensure compliance with College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation program requirements and readiness for inspections.
    • Monitor microbiology staff adherence to testing procedures, provide feedback, and take corrective actions if necessary.
    • Assess employee performance, conduct evaluations, and provide counseling or disciplinary action as needed.
    • Manage employee schedules, approve timesheets, and monitor PTO to maintain adequate staffing levels.
    • Perform microbiology laboratory test procedures.
    • AND MORE
    Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Microbiology from an accredited university.
    • Current registration as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Microbiologist from the ASCP or equivalent.
    • Minimum of four (4) years of clinical microbiology laboratory experience in a hospital or commercial lab setting.
