POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under limited supervision, verify and maintain records on incoming shipments. Receive, unpack, verify and record incoming merchandise or material. Deliver product to appropriate departments in a timely manner. Train Material Handlers to retrieve and deliver materials and supplies to production floor in accordance to production schedule. Notify planning of any possible raw material supply shortage.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Receives loads and unloads incoming materials, products and/or finished goods. Compares information on packing or bill of lading slip to verify accuracy of shipment; enters transactions in computer to transfer material into JD Edwards (JDE) material system.
  • Reviews and records shipment data, such as weight, charges, damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting and recordkeeping purposes in the enterprise software system.
  • Prepares documents, such as purchase orders to route materials as well as delivers materials to appropriate department and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
  • Communicates any purchase order issues to procurement and management as soon as possible.
  • Operates scanning gun, dolly, pallet jack, standup and/or standard forklift.
  • Executes cycle counts, material location verification reports and collects and prepares routine administrative paperwork; stocks incoming material in appropriate warehouse location.
  • Undertakes housekeeping functions in the warehouse, including following the Company's 5S program.
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental and/or infection control standards.
  • Supports team members by assisting as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:


  • High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate and 2 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understand and follow standard operating and safety procedures used in materials management.
  • Work independently and foster a cooperative spirit within a large and/or small team environment.
  • Handle a highvolume workflow within a manufacturing setting.
  • Prioritize, work with and meet tight deadlines with a highlevel of accuracy in a fastpaced warehouse.
  • Operate commercial materials handling equipment such as dolly lift, standup/standard forklift and scanning gun.
  • Add and subtract whole numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's; read, sort, check, count and verify numbers.
  • Deal with problems and issues involving some variation in standardized situations. Carry out detailed uninvolved written and oral instructions.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system such as JD Edwards; basic Microsoft Office Suite and OBI software skills.
  • Solid organizing and coordinating skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Forklift Operator Certification.
