Job Summary


The Garage Manager plans, organizes, directs, co-ordinates and participates in the day-to-day running of our garage and is responsible for our fleet's vehicle maintenance.

They are also responsible for maintaining the buildings and grounds of Ferreira Towing, Inc., directing staff and overseeing the upkeep of equipment and supplies.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize and coordinate the daytoday running of the garage, e.g. by writing work orders and by arranging for garage staff to perform necessary maintenance and repair work on vehicles for customers and Ferreira's fleet.
  • Act as liaison between customer and vehicle technician. Confer with customers to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems and to discuss work to be performed. Estimate costs and time required for repair or maintenance of the vehicle. Prepare repair work orders including all labor cost, parts ordered, etc.
  • Ensure that necessary parts, materials and equipment are available or ordered for customer or Ferreira's fleet repairs.
  • Check the activities in the garage, inspect completed work for compliance with safety and other statutory regulations, and make sure defects are repaired or adjusted. Maintain records of repair and service work.
  • Keep inventory of repair parts and equipment and requisitions replacement stock. Monitor the billing, delivery and returns of ALL parts ordered.
  • Maintain Ferreira's equipment and vehicle files with: Inspection Stickers, Decals, Compliance Decals, NY HUT etc., Vehicle maintenance records/ needs.
  • Inspect properties and facilities proactively. Identify and address safety and risk concerns above all others.
  • Maintain the buildings and grounds, direct staff to help with repairs and maintenance. Setup a daily and weekly cleaning schedule as well as determine and schedule repairs, renovation projects, waste reduction improvements and safety inspections
  • Manage upkeep of yard and building to include seasonal projects ie. snow plowing, spring cleanup.
  • Monitor budget and coordinate with accounting manager for any repairs or improvements needed. Plan and coordinate all installations and refurbishments.
  • Control activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security etc. Continuously look for ways to improve any and all aspects of facilities and property.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Pay:
$ $30.00 per hour
