Purpose:
Accountabilities:
- Take the reins in overseeing our water and wastewater systems, guiding a team towards success
- Play a pivotal role in maintaining water quality, responding to customer concerns, and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Stay ahead of the curve with ongoing training, keeping uptodate with environmental regulations and industry advancements
- Direct daily checks and maintenance on wells, pumps, and other crucial equipment
- Supervise and training staff to operate safely and efficiently, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Handle administrative tasks, including budget management, report writing, and compliance with regulatory agencies
- Conduct maintenance and repairs on water distribution and wastewater collection systems
- Monitor water quality and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
- Respond to emergencies and coordinate efforts to resolve issues promptly
- Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership
Education and Experience:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in the Water & Wastewater industry
- Minimum 12 months experience as a Water Operator III or equivalent
- Previous leadership experience desired
- Specialized knowledge of water and wastewater systems, safety practices, and regulatory requirements
- Willingness to obtain necessary certifications, such as ADEQ Grade 4 Operator License
- Class A CDL preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to mentor and coach team members effectively
- Capacity to handle varied tasks and adapt to changing circumstances in a fastpaced environment
