U-Box Customer Care Driver Responsibilities:
Operate a flatbed truck (training provided).
Operate an 8000-lb propane forklift or a truck-mounted forklift (training provided).
Load and unload storage containers for delivery.
Transport storage containers to and from specified destinations, e.g., customers' homes and businesses – local routes only.
Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
Minimum Requirements:
Clean motor vehicle driving record
High school diploma or equivalent
Department of Transportation certification
Commercial driver's license (CDL)
Work Environment:
The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes or chemicals.
Physical Demands:
The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
The states in which U-Haul will decline to hire nicotine users are:
Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington.
