    Introduction

    We are seeking a compassionate and efficient Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will work closely with medical staff to deliver exceptional patient care and support the smooth operation of our medical facility. As a CMA, your clinical expertise, organizational skills, and commitment to patient health will be integral to our mission of providing outstanding medical services.

    Job Responsibilities

    Perform routine administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining medical records.

    Assist with patient intake and documentation, including obtaining personal information, medical history, and insurance details.

    Measure and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.

    Compile current prescription records.

    Complete ECG/EKGs and record results in EMR

    Prepare exam rooms with necessary medical instruments before appointments.

    Assist healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures.

    Provide patients with instructions for medications and diets as prescribed by the healthcare provider.

    Manage inventory of medical supplies and re-order as needed.

    Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.

    Educate patients on general health and basic self-care procedures.

    Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs), if trained and as needed.

    Update and maintain patient electronic health records (EHR).

    Carry out other duties as assigned within the scope of practice for a CMA.

    Requirements:

    Job Requirements

    Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or equivalent certification.

    High school diploma or GED equivalent.

    Completion of an accredited medical assisting program.

    Minimum of 2 years on the Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting.

    Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or the ability to obtain certification within 3 months of hire.

    Demonstrated proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

    Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnosis.

    Strong clinical skills including taking vital signs, administering injections, and performing EKGs.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, staff, and providers.

    Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

    Capable of maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.

    Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

    Willingness to continue education and training as required by the employer or certification standards.

    Must work every Tuesday and Friday--other days may be flexible.

    Must be willing to drive to our Redding California Clinic one Friday every 6 weeks.

    Physical ability to perform job duties, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 25 pounds.

    Ability to be self critical while leaving criticism of other staff to management.
