The Organization
Mi Familia Vota (MFV) is a Latino-led organization with the largest field operation in the Latino community. It uses a holistic approach to building political power.

We are located in 8 strategic states, AZ, CA, CO, GA, FL, NV, TX, & NC, and engage our community around the most prevalent issues to ensure the construction of a healthy democracy and the advancement of a national Latino progressive agenda.

MFV utilizes a variety of strategies to reach our community, including citizenship, door-to-door voter education, registration and mobilization, issue organizing, as well as leadership development, advocacy, accountability campaigns, and litigation.

Mi Familia Vota is a 501(c)(4) organization, and Mi Familia en Acción is a 501(c)(3) organization.


Purpose


The Program Manager will provide essential infrastructure and organization to MFV and MFA programming in the State and in all related and associated activities in regards to his/her job as described and contained in this job description.t.


The position will provide on the ground guidance to planning and strategy for MFV and MFV EF numerous civic engagement activities.

The position will also engage in creating innovative partnerships with individuals, organizations, elected officials, media, and others.

The Program Manager position will report primarily to the State Director and subsequently to any other management position within MFV and MFVA,


Primary Responsibilities:

Work with MFV and MFVA staff to plan, organize, and implement activities in his/her State.

Create and maintain partnerships with a variety of individuals, organizations, and the media

Assist the State Director with the development of citizenship workshops and similar activities.

Lead the programs as directed by the state Director and coordinate activities with staff members, election/campaign activities in the state

Under the direction of the State Director, serve as communication liaison and work with media

Provide input and content for MFV and MFVA for social and web media formats in the state

Act as a representative of MFV and MFVA in coalition C3 and C4 groups as needed and requested by the State Director

Assist with fundraising efforts for MFV and MFVA under the supervision of the State Director.

Prepare and submit reports of job activities on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis as directed by the State Director


Prepare and follow up on administrative matters like the completion of forms, such as but not limited to HR, payroll, accounting, and other types of reports required under the discretion of MFV and MFA management.

Work on additional tasks and opportunities that may come up during the year.

Qualifications:


  • A strong commitment to the civic engagement of historically underrepresented communities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills; successful at motivating staff to meet program goals.
  • Minimum 23 years experience in program administration, facilitation, building education programs that benefit the community.
  • Attention to detail and ability to develop efficient systems to deliver intended results.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills in person, on the phone, and in writing.
  • A strong commitment to racial equity and social justice
  • Ability to work diplomatically with community partners.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, resolve conflicts, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work some weekends and evenings.
  • Access to a vehicle and willingness to drive long distances.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Docs, Google Sheets with an ability to learn online database platforms and general comfort with tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
