We are seeking a Director of Platform Operations to lead our dynamic team of internal resources and interface with external vendors, ensuring the operational excellence and reliability of our multi-product hosting environments across Azure and AWS platforms.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and management of our cloud infrastructure and services, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability to meet our business objectives.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive platform operations strategy that aligns with the organization's goal, focusing on Azure and AWS Platforms.
Interface with senior management to report on infrastructure health, performance, and operational metrics.
Work collaboratively with IT Architecture, Engineering, Enterprise, and other key stakeholders to ensure solutions are aligned with broader architectural, business operations, and strategic objectives within Fullsteam.
Ensure the reliability and scalability of all cloud-based product hosting environments.Oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, and support of all hardware, software, and infrastructure related to cloud operations.
Implement best practices for cloud management, including cost optimization, performance tuning, and disaster recovery planning.
Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors and cloud service providers, negotiating contracts and SLAs to ensure optimal service and cost-efficiency.
Act as a primary liaison between internal teams and external vendors, ensuring clear communication and alignment of goals and expectations.
Collaborate with product development teams to support product launches, updates, and expansions.Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of cloud engineers, system administrators, and support specialists.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the team.
Identify skill gaps and opportunities for team training and professional development.
Ensure all platform operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Develop and maintain robust security protocols and disaster recovery plans to protect company and customer data.
Regularly assess and mitigate operational risks, preparing for and responding to emergency situations.
Primary Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
10+ years of experience in IT operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing cloud platforms (Azure and AWS).
Strong technical background in cloud services, architecture, and security principles.Proven track-record of managing cloud infrastructures for high availability, performance, and security.
Experience negotiating and managing vendor contracts and relationships.
Excellent leadership and team development skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Experience managing Agile project teams or Agile programs
Recent experience supporting VP level executives and senior executives.
