Summary

:

Under general direction, incumbent(s) is responsible for enforcing the rules and policies of the district for proper school attendance.

He/she shall extend every effort to see that students attend school regularly when not ill and that they report to class promptly.

The officer shall also work cooperatively with teachers, social workers, school administrators, and parents to assure compliance with attendance laws and regulations, and other related duties as required.

Additionally District Safety Officer/Attendance Officer patrols and performs security and safety duties at the assigned school. Incumbent(s) monitors campus for law violations and other disciplinary incidents.

Incumbent(s) ensures safety and security measures are adhered to and investigates unusual conditions or activities and contacts and cooperates with local enforcement.

Essential Functions

:

- **Works closely with all school personnel regarding matters related to the students attendance and welfare.**:

  • Work with student and their parents/guardians regarding problems or concerns related to student attendance, welfare, and makes home visits as necessary

Assist school admin to coordinate, refer and submit students to CUTTS program

Participates in in-service training of school personnel in matters related to school attendance and welfare

Assist with attendance accounting and the preparation of attendance reports

Prepares attendance reports, etc., as requested by the schools or district administration

Enforce the district's rules and regulations related to school attendance areas

Act as a liaison between the schools and law enforcement agency partners

Assist school site personnel with campus safety concerns and campus supervision

Performs other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

:


To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications. Verification of these required qualifications is necessary.
-
High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (G.E.D.);
-
One year of security-related experience;

Valid Arizona Department of Transportation Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

:


It is preferred that applicant possesses the following preferred qualifications; however, the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position.
- **Three years of safety and security experience.**
