Salary/Hourly Range:
$ $28.50 (commensurate with experience and qualifications).


Responsibilities

  • Each semester, assess students' academic standing. Identify the population in initial stages of academic jeopardy and notify them in writing. Create and submit a report of those students who are on probation for two or more semesters to the Office of Student Development for decision and notification. Develop and maintain tracking mechanisms necessary to ensure the accurate and timely documentation of individual student progress to include probation and disqualification.
  • Maintain the dual audit trail (hard copy and electronic) with regard to additional student status situations: leave of absence, withdrawal, outofstatus, extended status and statute of limitations. Responsible for status data integrity. Develop methods for audit and continual updating.
  • Responsible for annual semester course scheduling process. This includes creating course matrixes for review by department chairs. Develop method for auditing and continual updating of course sections based upon department submissions. Assign classrooms based on the needs of each course and room setups. Coordinate available studio space with design school's administrative assistant.
  • Learn and share in all evaluation duties of the Registrar's Office as assigned, which may include, but are not limited to, transcript processing, student verifications letters, transfer analysis and articulation, issues of residency and concurrent enrollment. In addition, provide research for petitions to the Faculty Academic Policy Appeals Committee.
  • Responsible for compliance with government regulations with regard to students' status. This includes providing accurate electronic enrollment verification to the National Student Loan Clearinghouse and adhering to the 60day reporting cycle (input, audit, and send). Monitor changes in regulations as well as changes initiated by the Clearinghouse.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, although education and experience equivalent to a degree may be considered.
  • Familiarity with academic procedures and protocols helpful but not essential.
  • Detail and multitask orientation; skills in analysis and problem solving; ability to organize.
  • Must be willing and able to learn University curricula and develop a working knowledge of academic and administrative policies and procedures. Must be able to cultivate full knowledge of academic regulations and standards of confidentiality and security dictated by law and best practice. Orientation and training for this position takes one year (full academic year cycle).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to compose correspondence when necessary.
  • Personal and interactive skills needed to work in a very busy, fastpaced environment. Extensive contact with students, faculty and staff, requiring customer service orientation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as ability to interact diplomatically with a diverse population are required.
