OVERVIEW:

Founded in 1979 in direct response to rising rates of hunger and homelessness in North San Diego County, Interfaith Community Services works to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness by _Helping People Help Themselves_.

Interfaith is the most comprehensive social services agency in North County, providing both immediate safety net services and long-term, life-changing _programs_ designed to meet the holistic needs of people in crisis.

Together, in partnership with 250+ diverse faith communities, more than 650 recurrent volunteers, and a growing staff of over 200, Interfaith provides a safe haven and pathway towards self-sufficiency for more than 17,000 community members annually.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

This position oversees the Carlsbad Service Center (CSC) and associated programs.

Responsible for daily operations, contract compliance, supervision of staff, and performance of work required to support the mission of Interfaith Community Services.


  • Supervise CSC location and all program activities including outreach, enrollment, placement, training and followup for grants to ensure that all projected goals are met for all programs
  • Provide leadership to staff; conduct meetings and trainings to ensure program compliance and to enhance staff skills
  • Establish connections with appropriate private and public agencies
  • Coordinate and provide support to interns and volunteers including resource dissemination
  • Address difficult clients and crises and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Attend and participate in program, agency and community meetings and trainings
  • Provide direct services to clients including triage, assessment, and advocacy as needed
  • Monitor client activity and overall program progress
  • Maintain programmatic and client file compliance and perform quality assurance checks
  • Work closely with departments within the agency to best meet the needs of clients
  • Complete monthly/quarterly/annual billings and reports as scheduled to contract administrators and the Director
  • Monitor all client databases ensuring timely and correct data input
  • Provide assistance to Director of Employment and Economic Development in grant writing, program development, and special projects
  • Assist with budget development, compliance, and fiscal reporting
  • Monitors all staff job performance, completes evaluations, ensures ongoing staff training and development, and participates in the hiring of staff for department
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:


EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Services or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 1+ years of experience in a supervisory role or increasing responsibility preferred
