CLINICAL ASSISTANT
AMEND treatment Center located in beautiful Malibu seeks dynamic, responsible, and reliable individual to join our treatment team as a Clinical Assistant.
Responsibilities include supervision of adults, participation in groups, facilitating flow of daily activities, maintaining a safe, supportive, and healing environment, providing support to therapeutic team, and other duties as assigned.
Experience with behavioral health a plus. Must be available on at least 1 weekend shift a week. Full-time or part time positions available. (benefits are available to full-time employees).
CATEGORIES OF DUTIES
- Promotes a safe and secure environment to provide for the safe delivery of care, along with participating in group actives, groups and recreations.
- Monitors patient sharps and valuables and labels/handles appropriately, along with documenting in patient medical record appropriately and accurately
- Help prepare for intakes and Discharges of clients
- Provides transportation services utilizing company vehicles, including patient transportation, agency errands, etc. Provides wound care and medication management as needed.
- Attends inservice training and educational workshops, attends all required staff meetings.
- Cooperates and communicates fully with other staff members regarding patient behavior, progress, activities, etc.
- Fully understands and maintains policies regarding professional ethics, including appropriate boundaries and patient confidentiality. Demonstrates ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and/or directions.
- Utilizes crisis and/or deescalation intervention practices, when necessary and appropriate, with patient(s) whose behavior cannot be otherwise supported without such interventions.
- Develops and/or conducts specialized psychoeducational groups to help patients gain knowledge and develop skills to aid in their recovery
- Reports hazards to proper department if they cannot be immediately corrected
- Responds professionally and in a timely manner to any requests, changes or needs from management
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Attainment of at least 21 years of age
- Completion of Criminal Record Clearance
- Completion of Health Screen clearance with negative tuberculosis (TB) and, per California State requirements, proof of Covid19 vaccination
- Agree to random drug testing
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of one (1) year of fulltime experience, or its parttime equivalent, with persons with mental health concerns.
- Preferred experience in working with clients in a psychiatric, mental health, or substance abuse residential treatment setting.
- Valid Class II driver's license with clean driving records and current auto insurance
- Current CPR/First Aid Certifications (We can provide as needed)
- Water Safety Certification (We can provide as needed)
