- Perform complex mold maintenance, including problem-solving for customer issues and initiation of continuous improvement
- Repair and rebuild injection molds through welding, rework, machining, polishing, and finishing to required surface finish
- Fit and assemble parts, testing completed molds for proper operation
- Verify that repaired injection molds and related tooling conform to specifications by checking dimensions, clearances, and alignments using various test equipment
- Read and understand mold drawings and recommend mold design changes
- Maintain and organize spare parts inventory
- Operate machine tools such as drill press, surface grinder to prescribed dimensions and surface finish
- Operate crane to remove or relocate molds to specific workstations or areas
- Provide general maintenance and clean up of all Tool room equipment
- Participate in Continuous Improvement and assist in its implementation
- Coordinate tooling and equipment availability, repair, and maintenance
- Respond to problems by performing corrective technical or mechanical solutions
- Maintain positive employee relations and adhere to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices
- 5+ years of experience
- Tool and Die assembly, maintenance, and repair experience
- Experience with injection molding dies
- Proficiency in problem-solving
- Experience in fitting and assembling parts
- Experience in testing completed molds for proper operation
- Ability to read and understand mold drawings
- Experience in keeping inventory of spare parts organized
- Proficiency in operating a variety of machine tools
- Experience with operating crane
- Valid Forklift license
- Experience in coordinating tooling and equipment availability
- Experience in responding to problems by performing corrective technical or mechanical solutions
- High School or GED required
- EDM capability is a plus
- Exposure to international business practices and methodologies
