Department/Responsibilities:

The specialist hospital (171 beds) is a modern center for the diagnosis and treatment of lung and bronchial diseases.

In addition to the Department of Internal Medicine with focuses on pulmonology, allergology, sleep medicine, and ventilation medicine, it also has an anesthesiology department with an intensive care unit and a thoracic surgery department.

Furthermore, the specialist hospital is an academic teaching hospital of the Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital.


To strengthen our team, we are currently looking for a part-time psychologist (m/f/d).

An insight into your responsibilities:

  • Psychological support in the weaning process on our IMC ward
  • Supportive talk therapy for patients with chronic illnesses
  • Psychological support in pulmonary early rehabilitation
  • Psychological diagnostics and counseling
  • Counseling for smoking cessation
  • Support and counseling for family members
  • Psychological support for oncology patients
  • Psychological care on the palliative care ward
  • Conducting relaxation techniques
  • Conducting internal training sessions
  • Participation in internal and external quality circles

Profile/Qualifications:


We expect the following from you:

  • A completed master's degree in psychology or rehabilitation psychology
  • Experience in working with oncology patients is desirable
  • Experience/training in a certified smoking cessation program
  • Organizational skills and willingness to work interdisciplinary
  • Commitment and resilience
  • Empathy for a friendly and secure interaction with patients and family members
