Hello, I wanted to seek advice because I am unhappy with my current company. I work in logistics at Mercadona in Hide-A-Way Hills, OH. I told my boss that I was struggling mentally and also had family problems that required my attention at home. He said he would talk to HR to see what could be done.

However, the solution he offered was for me to be fired, but in order for that to happen, I would have to voluntarily miss work for three days. Then, I would be fired and supposedly be eligible for unemployment benefits, but I assume I would not receive any severance pay.

I am not comfortable intentionally missing work and I need advice and possible solutions to leave the company and receive some form of compensation. I have a 3-month-old baby and it would really help us financially. It would also be beneficial for me to leave the company for my mental well-being.
