    Description
    The Training Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Williams County Dispatch Center training program.

    The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents in this position.

    The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and may change with or without notice. Incumbents must be able to perform the essential function of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

    Develops, coordinates, and monitors the training program for new and existing staffEnsures the training program follows federal, state, local, and other applicable regulations and standardsFacilitates compliance by tracking and maintaining certifications and comprehensive training recordsEvaluates the existing training program, identifies opportunities for improvement, and implements approved changesOversees the Communications Training Officer (CTO) and Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) programsCreates new training plans by identifying programs to meet organizational needsOrganizes and conducts training sessionsMaintains current knowledge of training techniques, developments, and best practicesAssists in the recruitment and onboarding process in coordination with Human ResourcesAssists in completing quality assurance/quality improvement reviewAssists in the development of public safety policies, procedures, and guidelinesAssists with 911 Telecommunicator duties in crucial situationsMaintains confidentiality of non-public records and makes available all data and information deemed a public record by the North Dakota Century Code.

    High School Diploma or GED AND two (2) years experience as a public safety dispatcherMust possess a valid North Dakota Drivers License or equivalentMust pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screeningMust receive satisfactory results from hearing, vision, and drug and alcohol screeningMust possess or obtain within one (1) year of start date a valid APCO Basic 40-hour Telecommunicator Certification, APCO Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD)

    Certification, American Heart Association or National Safety Council CPR and First Aid Certifications, NCIC Full Access License, APCO Customer Service in Todays Public Safety Communications Certification, and APCO Surviving Stress CertificationSpecial Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

    Intense concentration and prolonged attentiveness are required during emergency communications interaction with distraught or abusive individualsCompensation: Starting Salary ranges from $30.00-$34.00/hour based on qualifications and experience .
