- Room Turnover: Clean OR before/after surgery, assist OR staff with patient position as directed, transport patient to/from OR before and after surgery.
- Inventory Management: Identify supplies to restock from case cart, maintain accuracy of inventory, clean supply areas routinely.
- Maintain good communication skills, use courtesy and helpful attitude on telephone and other areas of the hospital.
- Adhere to hospital and department policies regarding patient care, patient safety, QI activities, infection control, emergencies, etc.
- Transport specimens to the lab and log them in correctly.
- Responsible for waste disposals.
- Stock case carts with sterile supplies for surgery, follow procedures for add-on cases and items not filled, maintain knowledge of inventory in the case cart area.
- Perform and complete other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 6 months of relevant work experience in direct patient care is preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of principles of sterile processing and materials handling.
- Good attention to detail.
